CITY OF GRAND ISLAND NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING DEVELOPMENT OF PROGRAMS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CORONAVIRUS (CDBG) ACTIVITIES TO ALL INTERESTED AGENCIES, GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS: The City of Grand Island invites and encourages all interested citizens, agencies, nonprofit organizations and other interested parties to attend a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) public hearing scheduled for: Date: Thursday, November, at 10:00 am pm Location: City Hall, Community Meeting Room (Basement), 100 East First Street, Grand Island Nebraska, 68801 On August 11, 2020 the City of Grand Island was informed of a special allocation of $233,136 in the form of Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CBDG-CV) funds to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19). This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, which was signed by President Trump on March 27, 2020, to respond to the growing effects of this historic public health crisis. The purpose of this public meeting is to provide the public an opportunity to participate in planning the use of the Community Development Block Grant Corona Virus funding (CDBG-CV). The City of Grand Island encourages all interested parties to attend the Public meeting or submit comments by the public meeting date to assist the City in planning a coordinated neighborhood and community development strategy for the CDBG Program.
