CITY OF GRAND ISLAND NOTICE OF PUBLIC Meeting REGARDING DEVELOPMENT OF 2021 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) ACTIVITIES TO ALL INTERESTED AGENCIES, GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS: The City of Grand Island invites and encourages all interested citizens, agencies, nonprofit organizations and other interested parties to attend a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) public Meeting scheduled for: Date: Thursday June 10, 2021 at 2:00 Pm Location: City Hall- Community Meeting Room, 100 E. 1st Street - Grand Island, NE The purpose of this public meeting is to provide the public an opportunity to participate in planning the 2021 Annual Action Plan's CDBG activities to achieve neighborhood and community development goals. During the public hearing, information will be presented on proposals requesting funding. At least 70% of CDBG funds must benefit low- and moderate- income residents or neighborhoods. The City of Grand Island, as a recipient of CDBG funding, is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to prepare and adopt an Annual Action Plan which will be submitted to HUD before August 16, 2021. The following activities and amounts have already been reviewed and discussed to be included in the 2021 Annual Action Plan, the remaining $5,871.00. $200,000- Grand Island Public Schools $42,984- YMCA Child Care $100,000- Railside Small Business Rental Assistance program $55,371- Program Administration The City of Grand Island encourages all interested parties to attend the Public meeting or submit comments by the public meeting date to assist the City in planning a coordinated neighborhood and community development strategy for the CDBG Program.
