Jennifer Finigan, chief deputy probation officer in District 4A, has been selected as chief probation officer for District 4A effective August 17, 2026. Jennifer brings many years of dedicated service to the courts and extensive experience in both adult and juvenile probation to her new leadership role.
Jennifer joined the Judicial Branch in 1999 and has served as both an adult and juvenile probation officer. She has served as chief deputy probation officer in District 4A for the past 10 years and previously held the position of reporting center coordinator for eight years. Throughout her career, Jennifer has played an integral role in the development of the Specialized Substance Abuse Supervision program for the state, as well as for District 4A. She also developed Omaha’s Day Reporting Center from the ground up.
Jennifer has demonstrated strong stakeholder relationships, including partnerships with local service providers, and is an experienced public speaker. Jennifer is also a strong supporter and advocate of Problem-Solving Courts.
Throughout her career with the Judicial Branch, Jennifer has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving the courts and community. Her extensive experience, strong relationships, and commitment to innovation and continuous improvement will serve District 4A and the Nebraska Probation System well in her new leadership role.
