Kearney, Neb. – Six members of the Nebraska Kearney wrestling team and four Loper golfers have earned 2026 Academic At-Large All-District honors as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Select honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot; first, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in July. The "At-Large" category covers a wide array of sports.
This award went through a change prior the 2022-23 academic year. To qualify now, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA (for graduate students, both their undergrad and grad GPA must be a 3.5 or better), have been at their current school one full year (two semesters) and met their sports playing requirements. For golf, nominees must play in 75% of a team's scored events or play in the league tournament. In wrestling, nominees must be in the lineup for at least 75% of a team's scored events or compete in their weight class at a conference or regional meet. In addition, schools can nominate no more than 12 student-athletes (six men and six women) in the at-large category.
Previously, Academic All-District nominees could have posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA with winners being selected by a random vote, and there was no limit on the number of nominees. Now, all qualifiers receive Academic All-District distinction.
